--> Hello to the em-crew…..

Um, this is one of my multiple blog things, as I am not sure if any one item warrants an individual blog but I would like to share. Maybe together they are worthy of your attention?

1. As mentioned recently on here, we did an exhibition thingy a couple of weeks ago. It was great fun and we met lots of really cool people in our new home (Birmingham, UK). Here is a little webpage on the results – link

2. Last night I went to the second 7” Cinema ( link ) night in about 4 days. They were both amazing. This one was in a warehouse with some live film scores created by some chap from Napalm Death / Scorn and Broadcast. In addition, the films I have seen over the two nights have been really amazing. Last night the stand out for me was a (Wallace and Gromit on acid and made DARK) short animation set in a hospital. I am going to try to find out more about it because it was amazing! On Sunday night the standout film for me was SOFT by Simon Ellis. A reviewer in the Guardian ( link ) summed it up well:

"After it was over, there was no question of my popping anywhere, or doing anything other than lying on the sofa with a cushion on my face, whimpering in fear and paranoia. Soft is shocking and violent, and ingeniously, intimately upsetting in a way I can only compare to the controversial scenes in Gaspar Noé's Irréversible."

That is how I felt but I was in a room full of people I didn’t know, with nowhere to hide. I am not sure I would suggest anyone watches it really 

3. Finally, me and my friend Rob talked yesterday about entering the 2009 World Beard and Moustache Championships, in Alaska. We talked about styles to aim for (this was my favourite : link ) and who else could join us in this dream. There’s a long way to go, let the growing commence…

THE END.

Zanf: I think you may have switched the links there.....

WTF is a bugger grip, ye olde manky brits?

hehehe - um, bugger grips are another name for side burns...did that help at all? basically, it's the bits that grow down the sides of your face to the main beard, which someone buggering you might grip hold of...

I should have guessed.

Maybe we need to have an EM411 mustache and beard competition. The winner gets free admission to the big event in Alaska! Women can do leg and armpit hair instead. Back hair growth is also encouraged.
