--> Made it to Berlin last week. Drove for 2 and a half days across England, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany then got there in Berlin on Wednesday. It's great. It's REALLY cold but everything I heard is true: Loads of art and music, cheap rent, clean streets, table tennis tables in the parks, dog shit on the pavements.

Am staying at a youth hostel at the moment in trendy, middle class Prenzlauerberg and spending my time looking on the net for rooms to rent in shared flats then calling them up to be told they've just been let.

Can anyone help? Looking for a room in P-berg, F-shain or maybe K-berg if its a nice one. 20m2 minimum really for all my synths. With or without ensuite jacuzzi.

look into neukolln. seriously, it is really freakin cheap. you can get the u8 at bodinstrasse or hermannstrasse and be up in the heart of the city in no time. the turkish food there is really excellent and cheap too.

I'd suggest neukolln too..... stupid cheap...and not just the rent either.... the food is great!! ....and there were loads of notices on the lamp posts, when i was there, advertising spare rooms.
and its right near kreuzberg.

I asked a some guys i know about spare rooms etc .... one guy is in London till 5th of December but said he will meet you for a beer and a chat if you are up for it??? .... he is a Berliner so probably useful to know.

if you're in a jam I would suggest also checking in with the "learn German" schools. I figure if anywhere lots of ppl who move to Berlin learn German and those schools prob. have lots of postings for people in your situation looking to settle in.
