--> Feed the word and improve your vocabulary at the same time: link

I love sites that can make a difference in peoples' lives and all you have to do is click, like link , but this one seems to have put an interesting spin on things. Today I learned that restive means fidgety, as well as donating a few thousand grains of rice to UN missions worldwide.

Do you also like to click to make a difference? If so, where?

I work in the public school sys, and this has been the talk of the teachers for the past month now. This ASD student fricking aced it when I showed it to him ...

Hmm. Cool. Hit 1000 before I had to get back to work (hehe)

the world really needs more of this - share the link with everyone you know

10 grains of rice is a lot less than a gram. vocab is cool but i'm not a fan of this.

It's cool, but I'd rather just click one button and give a million grains of rice...why should hungry people have to wait for me to improve my vocabulary before they can eat?
lol @ sohcahtoa

I managed to make a thousand grains in about five minutes ... and i'm french !

faq said: "FreeRice is not sitting on a pile of rice―you are earning it 20 grains at a time. Here is how it works. When you play the game, advertisements appear on the bottom of your screen. The money generated by these advertisements is then used to buy the rice. So by playing, you generate the money that pays for the rice donated to hungry people."

what's not to like?

I'd feel more comfortable donating pasta though, but that's just me.

Thanks for clearing that up cbit. I'd hate to think someone missed out because I couldn't remember what putrescent meant.

Well; i guess it could be criticised on the grounds that rice only (seems to?) gets donated when you get a word correct. But the banner ads get served whether or not you get it right.
