--> Hello people.

This blog is to announce the release of my new ten song album "Lycopods". I've finally got a functional site to host the release from. link Just don't judge the music on my non existent html skills!

You can download it in a variety of formats. There's MP3, of course. But being a bit of an audiophile, I always prefer lossless compression. So I've posted both FLAC and ALAC (apple lossless) versions too.

MP3: link
FLAC: link
ALAC: link

If you've never heard me before, you can hear all ten songs in my EM411 release section, or from these links:

1. Cooksonia (the prelude) link
2. Seed Like Structure link
3. Candycane link
4. Lycopodium link
5. Michelle the Locust link
6. Isoetes link
7. Shin Sigillaria link
8. White Chicks link
9. White Chicks II link
10. 13 Marginals link

This album is a tribute to the oldest living lineage of vascular plants.

I hope you enjoy it!

Nick

Wow...great so far...love the use of the chimes and bells...

Reminds me of bola
dr.nick is one of the most consistent release annotaters. he always has something kind and useful to say. i love him for that.

I comment a lot because I'm an electronic music listener first. I actually look forward to listening to all of the releases. I make music if I percieve the absense of a particular idea in the genre. I've never heard anyone take the melodic complexities found in classical music and incorporate them into em. So I try to. I think synthesis can be a marvelous tool for creating pitch bending animal like sounds. But I seldom hear anyone attempt to do so. And until relatively recently, I hadn't heard EMers do a decent job of constructing the illusion of a 3D space. I'll let you all decide if I've succeeded at any of these. But for me, these songs have filled a few voids

Maybe I'd have done things differently if I'd heard Bola before. I'm super interested based off of the crappy quality myspace mp3s I'm listening too now. I'm so going to get their newest album tonight if it's at Easy Street.

great release nick. thanks so much for sharing. BIG UP!

I'll try to to check it out...

off in space apparently.

Also, LOL@ Lycopod definition : "club mosses". This totally makes my moss wanna dance.
