goddam! are the wii's api's open to mucking about?

I've always wanted one of those stupid vr googles except they cost too much and don't do anything else. It's amazing how the wii is just some IR sensors and possibly some kind of inbuilt giro's.

You can already buy head tracking equipment for PC for about $200- a lot of guys I play Battlefield2 with use it for fighter jet piloting. sounds pretty badass to me.

the problem is the monitor is still in one place, it's only 3d relative to your position in meatspace.

think head-mounted displays that track movement. turn your head to the left, you're looking left, etc. probably already exists, though prohibitively expensive.
