" The Elegant Universe " is cool and fun, its like all those years of watching star trek prepared me for the quatum mechanics terms

Sandwiches That You Will Like is a 2002 PBS documentary by Rick Sebak . i really liked the other one too that they done about hotdogs. but this sandwich special is amazing to watch. i like looking at food, and they show you the best sandwiches in the US

can't find link to the sandwich thing, but its the best documentary i've seen

it's actually much more complicated than that.

only any two of us can agree on two documentaries at one time.

carl sagans - cosmos still one of the best
planet earth in HD - really great

the fog of war.

Mr. Death - film about a guy that built/ repaired electric chairs and was soon commissioned to prove the Holocaust did indeed happen after one of the first pieces of Holocaust denial literature was published and the author was put on trial (that was a... mouthful? err... handful?).
Welcome to Wonderland - haven't seen it yet, but it's a documentary about the outdoor doofs in Australia.
Devil's Playground - film about Amish youth adventuring into the "real world" and falling into drugs and what not.
Baraka - beautiful cinematography from all around the world- no words, just beautiful images.
Plus many more! Documentaries are my favorite!

awesome link tmns, thanks!
