--> A few days ago I received these 170mm "touch sensitive" linear potentiometers developed by Spectra Symbol. They were purchased from Josh during the prototype phase of his Stribe project. I suggest checking out the Stribe Forum for all development news.

Earlier today I hooked one of these strips into an Arduino and started to realize the potential for these components. This project is going to be a lot of fun and an interesting alternative to existing OSC/MIDI controllers.

i read about stribe on create digital music. really awesome. too bad my building skills at those of a two year old.

The soldering part doesn't look all that bad other than 2048 LED legs. That part might take a bit to finish up. Now building an enclosure might be the rough part. Maybe...

whenever i tried to order from spectrasymbol, i didnt really get a quote or anything... plus i heard from someone else that its pretty large quantities=lots of money...

do you have any spare ones that i could buy??

I think that Spectra Symbol does require large bulk quantities. Try the link above that goes to the Stribe Forum and track down Josh. I purchased mine through him and I would imagine he will be doing other bulk orders. I wish I had bought some spares. The ones I have are going into a Stribe and I would like four more to connect into a Monome.
