--> Heya, I made a dual version of my micromod hack and I'm about to order PCBs and components. So I figured it will cost about:

12 EUR for the PCB,
10 EUR in parts.

I think I'll add 20 on top of that for the work I'll have to do testing the boards (sadly this is not automated at all, so I have to do all the programming, testing woozah by hand, takes about 2 hours per board). So that'd be 45 EUR per board. This is just a dual USB MIDI adapter, but small footprint and without MIDI connectors so it's easy to wire up inside a synth. The board fits the Nord quite well (I'll have to saw a bit off on top as the factory can't do diagonal sawing ,but here is a png at 150 dpi if you want to wire the board up inside another synth. So the kit includes:

board + all midi usb logic + one usb connector + wires .

What you'll have to do is fit the stuff inside your side and solder the midi wires to the midi connectors. I'll include a small java program to activate / deactivate the midi ports so you can still use the old ones.

Please emmail if you're interested, when I have about 3-4 orders up I'll order the boards, as I don't want to spend too much money preordering stuff. Then you can wire the money once the boards are finished and working

wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicked.

once i sorted out the stuff with my micro mod and i know how much it will cost me. i'd be in the game i guess.

Ill have one but you know this. I'm not paying €45 though - fuck that shit - I'll pay €50 though. ;)

You could drum up more interest over at electro-music forum as they have a nord forum or even sell some on ebay as nmm's seem to go quick over there.

i am tempted to make up a reason for needing this..

2 layer pcb?

yah, 2 layers If you have a synth that needs USB, that's it. I can make a smaller variant with just 1 MIDI port, if you wantz

I'm in.

ok, i ordered 6 boards and all the parts, should be arriving in about 10 days, I'll let you guys know when I have a few working boards.

i don't quite understand what this hack is going to do? more midi ports?

ooh, how would this work? i'm really tempted to buy one of these boards; it would be very nice to get the midisport/firebox and cables out of the way. i can't quite justify the expense just yet though.

Hmm, at the moment i got the cool stuff only really working as a prototype, and would definitely need some more work to be done to get into "user usable" state. The interface works really well though, I've been using mine for the past 2 months now and it works like a charm.
