Karl Kliem made visuals for the Alva Noto + Sakamoto Ryuichi tour. He also made some Max patches for Alva Noto.

I wish I could see a close up of the Nibosen instrument he made on Max. All patch chords hidden, probably very organized & clean :-) Not like my simple yet messy patches for sure. | |

i seldom see custom patches that are not messy. i'm suprised more people don't edit the default slider/button images, its very easy and makes the patch look cooler

Wow, their treatment of him really sucks. Nicolai seems to have a serious authorship complex (see the Kliem blog post about him forcing him to remove the audio on the videos he had posted).
I enjoyed the Insen dvd (mostly due to the visuals, since watching Nicolai's and Sakamoto's faces as they have a wankfest isn't extremely interesting to me). Good dvd none the less.

I caught this concert when it toured here (melbourne) and there was no mention of Karl Kleim in the promo or on the ticket. I assumed Carsten Nicolai was responsible for them.
What a wankrash, taking other peoples' credit.
It was an amazing show, but would have been considerably less amazing if the visuals weren't as cool.

I'm really disappointed cause when i saw the show I thought the coolest thing were the visuals and i took for granted it was Nicolai's work.. while the guy hasn't done anything.. I mean, even the max patch for the real time sampling was done by Karl Kliem and the guy wasn't credited anywhere.. whle he actually did ALL the job Nicolai was supposed to be doing.
What an asshole.

pff what a douche, i mean i love his albums and he clearly has some sort of aesthetic vision.. i would'nt think that he's an ass if he just credited karl kliem but now my view of him as a person/artist is changed radically.
