--> Last night was supposed to be my debut show as Miniature Airlines. Sadly, there was some issue with the club a while back, and the weekly that I was supposed to be on got canceled. So it goes.

But the good news is that the promoter who booked me is working on getting a new showcase set up for later in February. And this means I get more time to work on my live set, which is coming along pretty well but could use a little time to marinate, especially since I just figured out a way to make some big improvements in my MIDI controller setup. So ultimately, pretty good news all around.

And on top of that good news, I just quit my job! I'm here for one more week, before giving myself a 5-day weekend (music making time!) and then starting a new job with a $5/hour raise. Not too shabby if you ask me...

2008 is definitely looking up so far.

If I may ask, what sort of midi setup are you using and what was the improvement?

My MIDI setup's pretty simple...BCR-2000 and Oxygen-8 into Buzz through the PeerControl plugin (which allows easier reassignment of controls, value mapping, and assigning multiple parameters with different value maps to one CC). I basically just changed the way the CCs are set up on the controller so I can use it to access more channels on my virtual mixer than I was before, and can switch presets on the fly to use even more knobs in one set. Nothing revolutionary, but it makes things easier for me!
