Hi all
I'm looking at expanding audiobulb's reach into Second Life
Are any of you regular users?
I'm looking for a partner who will promote and sell audiobulb content on second Life - set up a shop there and work with the clubs and DJs....
The successful applicant must be a regular seond lifer with a commitment to growing a business there.
They must have or know how to build contacts - liaise with promoters and sell music via streaming and other distro options
Payment will be based upon a percentage of earnings > Lindens | |

I read an article about it in new scientist and was amazed that people are actually making a good living selling stuff solely in virtual shops inside second life, architects too are designing buildings and selling virtual real estate... crazy. I tried it but all I did was fly around for a while until I was bored.

a bunch of tech companies have started using it as a virtual classroom for delivering training on their products
if you poke around Flickr you can find these big cults of people who post nothing except their SL avatards dancing in various virtual cities. I accidentally hit upon the SL version of Portland and it made me feel yucky.

i'll be there when it really is "Snow Crash" but until that time i'm content to read the baroque cycle in my real bed with my real girl. and listen to audiobulb releases on my real speakers, of course ;). good luck with the idea tho!

i defo would be up for doing this. i just got onto it last night though so im a bit crap at using and doing in the game. however, i too will be defianately considering the use of second life as a means to make cash with music - my band want to go on there etc..... bella emerson recently did a performance with her solo cello /loop station act she does - and so did umm... cant remember, some major artist, shizer cant remember his name... gotta face up to the possibility of music being digital and on the net for the foreseeable future. second life could become just ordinary like the tv. Imagine if once you said 'uh i dunno about putting music on the tele its all just hype' in like 1940 or something...
anyway. Id be game if I was three months older / more experienced do this. are you (audiobulb) already experienced in it's use? do you play it / own anything?

wife plays warcraft obsessively and that to me is a similar, and slightly disturbing, concept. Innovation blah blah yeah, but until it's all ubiquitous I'll continue to be my curmudgeonly self and suspicious of it.

I haven't used 2nd life much but i don't think it's just something for people who don't have a "first" life. There is something in there that fascinates me. i think to start moving there can't be a bad thing. I can't help but i support this move David.
