I've been considering getting one, to be used for nothing more than mobile web surfing/email checking/ word processing.
Anyone besides deltasleep have one?
Will it get me girls at the beach?

i have a black 4g surf (running xp) that i'm using right now (and most of the time these days). you'd be surprised at how usable it is. and tiny! it's hard to get a sense of just how small the eee is without putting it in front of you - it's easily less than half the size of any laptop you've ever used.
it's also surprisingly adequate for doing all sorts of computer tasks - just about anything outside of multimedia. i use it to browse the net, email, light image editing, ftp, coding, etc.
link is very helpful and should get you up and running.

some of them have the ram soldered in so you cant upgrade it without being a serious hardass... if i remember right teh 4g has regular ram sockets, idk about the 4g surf though

battery life is okay - maybe around 2 hours depending on what you're doing. the 4g also has a higher capacity battery (~30 min), but asus will be coming out with a 6 cell soon so i'd save the money for the upgrade. and make sure to get black if you get the surf as it has the ram door on the bottom. all 2gs and white surfs have the ram soldered in. all eees come with 512 of ram except the 8g, which has a gig.
