OK, so here's the deal. I have another 8 month co-op term coming up at the end of this semester. Last time I was working for some major radio stations and that was interesting enough but we didn't actually dig around inside the gear as much as I'd hoped. It was more quick fixes and the transmission site equipment. There just wasn't time to do major repairs and things were usually swapped when they required a lot of repair.
This time around I would like to get in somewhere that actually fixes audio gear, musical equipment and synths etc. The problem is the co-ops that usually turn up at the college are geared toward heavy industry electronics and networking. So, I've decided I need to go out there and find my own employer willing to take me on in this field. Does anyone know of any local (hamilton, toronto area) shops or even production houses that might want an electronics eng tech student with a ton of audio background for 4-8 months?
any help is appreciated.
