Christopher Anderson has an exhibition at Magnum called ‘Silicon Forest’.
The photos are presented in a flash slideshow application with music from The Conet Project.
The photographs are of the town, Akademgorodok (Академгородо́к, part of the Russian city Novosibirsk, Siberia), created in Soviet era Russia as a place where scientists were grouped together to do research.
When the USSR ceased to exist in 1991, the upheaval did not leave the scientists working there unscathed, and they have had to turn their significant prowess around and re-invent themselves as soldiers fighting corporate warfare.
