You know those dreams you have sometimes that are like a big, epic, dramatic film? The ones where you wake up with the feeling that that dream was really "important?"
I have those every night now since I've started taking melatonin. Apparently there's a lot of data out there to testify that it's good for you, too.
Last night I walked out side in the rain and their were two bears shooting fireballs and lighting at king kong(who was rapping in a screwed voice "you can hear me fo ya see me I got king kongs in da trunk") The bears merged together to make a fetus in a womb and rolled toward King Kong. I grabbed my umbrella- it was blue and bent over funny like a helmet. It was making a square wave vibrato sound. I picked it up and underneath it screamed a big voice(the voice of the Mysterons) that said OPEN A BUSINESS as it picked me up and flung me up in the air to take me and show me a mall shop with a happy baker working in his own business.
And thats pretty much every night for the last 2 months. I typically remember them, and they have never been nightmares. It's totally awesome- you need some. | |

yeah..I occasionally take melatonin as well as 5-htp. 5htp helps with my mood if i'm feeling particularly down and melatonin helps me sleep when i've got a rambling brain. it does 'enhance' your dreams...but i also find it makes me sleepier the next day.

thats just one fine example! I need to keep a log of this stuff, because it would make great comic books or surrealist art. Typically my dreams involve enormous battles that end the world, apocalypses, shopping, and nonmusical objects making musical sounds.

epic dreams are rad.
Last one I had I was on a quest with four other people to climb this mountain made of jewels...even the scree was tiny little jewels. I kept waking up and when I went back to sleep, it'd start again, like episodes of a tv show.
Maybe I'll start taking melatonin.

you should! I'm not sure if I am dreaming more, or just feeling more lucid. Some of these dreams I analyze WHILE I am dreaming them. Is that a meta-dream?
One of my most memorable ones involved being chased through a dystopian blade runner city in scotland. I was being chased by the police- who were also a fraternity of blonde dudes, in gas masks. I was partially lucid, having fun with them, and I climbed up a building. They were jumping up to try and get me, and I figured I had better wake up. So I spat in one of their faces, and woke up. But I woke up into another dream, where I was standing at work laughing about a package with a funny name on it. We decided we should open it to see what mr. funny name was getting. So I opened it and it blew my face off. And I was not scared by any of it.

i used to take melatonin every night, and it consistently gave me super vivid dreams as well. i don't recall why i stopped taking it, i always and forever have trouble getting to sleep so maybe it's time to start back up? kinda pricey tho!

Don't buy the all natural stuff- it's made from ground up bovine pineal glands. yuck. And way more expensive.
