--> Noise Factory Records has just released their third sampler and a track from my forthcoming album is on it.

Beyond this being a shameless bit of self-promotion, I've been listening to this CD in my car for the last week or so several times over (something I do rarely) and have to say that it is a solid compilation of incredibly good music that spans everything from pop to idm to techno.

If, like me, you're getting a bit tired and cynical of increasingly worn out electronic genres, then this might be the thing to cheer you up.

In addition to my track, tracks from em411 regular adcBicycle, expat nybbl (aka beliefmask - where is that guy?) and lurker naw also appear on the compilation.

Unfortuantely, it doesn't look like the vol 3 sampler is available on iTunes or other music download sites yet, but the CD is for sale on the Noise Factory site.

How about that, eh?

In other news, I finished my album a couple of months ago, jdj mastered it and lem aka b kawula did some cool artwork for it. Its in the label's hands now and should be released sometime in October.

my tenure at my in-laws place is about to end. about 9 months ago, our basement apartment flooded and we moved in with the in-laws, which has been a mixed blessing. we certainly know each other better now, but i'm not sure we necessarily like each other any better (and here's a ;) for any extended family that might stumble across this blog...)

the good news is that the flood finally got us off our complacent asses and we bought a house in the east end of toronto that we'll be moving into in the next few weeks. i have a smallish room in the basement for the studio that won't allow for many (if any) more additions, which is probably a good thing.

i haven't turned my studio on since finishing the album. been feeling a bit musically exhausted. haven't even really been listening to that much music. hopefully after the move i'll get back into it.

yeah, it was tough. it took me about 6 months to finish the last 3 tracks and just as i was getting signed the apartment flooded, so we had to push back the release date.

its a tremendous relief - there was a deadline for submitting the mastered album to the manufacturer - something to do with distribution schedules. i made it with only a couple days to spare.

OMG. i'm such a neglectful a--hole.

FIXED.

congrats ms. i've always enjoyed your music you have released here.

i understand the musically exhausted bit. just don't be stupid like me and sell all your gear after a big project. that urge to create tracks will come back and then you'll have to buy it all over again. doh!
