i no longer have a working maxmsp (full maxmsp). but i would like to assume your patch is cool. maxmsp can be tricky. make sure to try out the resoucre files (examples), and there are lots of free online tuturials that you can download. if you are ever looking to take a break from all the headaches of working on patch windows, try to open your default slider/button/knobs for maxmsp in an image edititing program. if you don't ahve an image editor capable of doing that , Resedit works just fine. the whole idea is to make fun looking buttons or knobs. you can even edit those little blinking lights to be any two frame animation. Fun?

alot of max developments on this site lately. cbit sucked me back in with his last one (I'd not looked at max in 7 months or so and had forgotten how wonderful it is).

I'm just getting into Max myself - enjoying a mixture of going through the finely written tutorials and then just diving in and patching stuff (I've played around with Pd before so some of the skills are transferable).
Re: chop2.pat...
I get an error when I open it "error: exp2: no such object"
Is that an abstraction that's in your search path somewhere?
Still, I can get it working - I guess the exp2 object is just meant to help with setting the loop length maybe?
Anyway, sounds great. A little on screen documentation wouldn't go amiss.
Nice one.

I've been attempting to get my head around pd for ages. Been through a few 30 day versions of max and I've finally got myself a older version max in a effort to save cash. I have to say I find it alot easier to work with than pd but that might be just because it looks nicer.
I'm always encourged that I'm not the only max newbie out there

exp2 is an external that raises two to the power of the number that is being sent to its inlet. it is being used by the dropdown menus to set the loop length and the hold time of the loop.
onscreen documentation is needed, i agree. i wasn't really planning on posting the patch here when i put it up on my webspace, though, so if i write something and have the intention of posting it somwhere it will be much better documented.
if you load a sped-up amen it will make drum and bass for you.
thanks, all.
