Just got back last night from recording at Jack Straw productions for their radio show, Sonarchy, which is broadcasted on KEXP.

It was a recording of a live set, but the recording is re-broadcast at a later date, probably about 3 months or so later. Sonarchy is on at midnight on Saturdays on KEXP 90.3 FM in Seattle. I guess KEXP has a pretty good internet presence too and Doug told us that sonarchy has an audience every week of thousands.
Anyway, it was really exciting to be recording for a radio show. It was an hour long set, and we did what we both felt was a really exciting and energetic set, which I hope will grab some people's attention.
Doug haire recorded our set, but I don't really know how much he actually did--because I do all my mixing live in my computer with midi control, and john also does his mixing on his own mackie mixer. After all that, all I send out is a stereo pair of cables, and he probably just set the levels and hit the "record" button, though I can't be fully sure.
Doug was a really nice guy, all smiles, and gave us all the time we needed to set up and get comfortable. Then we just jammed it out.
If anyone here knows someone that plays live experimental or electronic music, I would strongly suggest contacting doug at Sonarchy! I didn't know how hard it would be to get on the show, but a friend of mine who has recorded for him said it was really easy--just send him out an email. I did, and I heard back from him a few weeks later with a dated for us to come in and record.
Anyway, he's a couple pictures:

that was just a couple quick snaps I took facing the control room. It's not a very exciting room anyway, just very utilitarian.
here's a recording of what will be broadcast--he just handed us a CDR right after the recording. yes, that's me making the dorky announcements, haha.
this track is 60:00 long and 192kbps mp3, about 80 mb. It's two seperate sets, both 30 mins long... so if you want to skip to the second set just go 30 mins in.

for anyone interested: what we're currently using gearwise:
White john plays the Buddha guitar (cheap guitar with frets removed, a bass string added) through a few pedals, into his mackie mixer, which also has a TV, and radio plugged in, and a kaoss pad on the fx send.
I'm using audiomulch, a nord micro mod (thanks ignatius), running the micro mod through a few pedals. I play the micro mod with my trigger finger. I'm doing the mixing, and modular routing, and playing samples with my remote zero (I have a small sampler I built in reaktor playing the samples--I use the drum pads on the remote zero). In mulch i'm using the grains, and some different FX.
anyway... thanks doug! thanks jack straw productions!
