--> I'm sat in the office, the only one in.
I've come in early to make up some flexitime cos I've took friday off for an interview for a teaching course.

There are two wall clocks in the office and I'm quite enjoying raving a bit to the rhythms they make together. The most minimal techno you've ever heard. It sounds pretty good; one makes a slightly lower tock than the other so it's like the bass drum. The other alternates between a hard tick and a soft tock, on the 2.5 beat with a bit of shuffle. It reminds me of one of the tunes off Oneida's Each One Teach One, it keeps mixing into it in my head.

Looking forward to another Blood Moon gig tonight. Just bought two PA speakers off my mate to use as bass cabs: both have a 15" cone. Also, we've started putting the bass guitar through a massive compressor first, then a distortion pedal. You pluck one note and it rumbles your guts for about 30 seconds. I'm sure it's how Sunn0)) must get their sound. Last night I spent a couple of hours making some new speaker cables, brimming with excitement.

The last gig we did I peaked too soon. We were given a 35 minute set but were off within 20. I smashed the guitar into the floor tom after about 10mins, breaking off one of the machine heads. I was too drunk too early i think, it really doesn't help improvisation. Plus the synth wasn't loud enough as the PA was tiny, the amps were feeding back etc etc.

So tonight should be better as we've got a heavy noise gate we can put on theguitar to kill feedback and that compressor on the dirty, massive bass. If the analogue's too quiet it's no skin off my arse, i'll just leave it droning away quietly and move onto the sax or the drums.

nice story man. full of rock'n'roll

Last night's gig was wicked, despite a few technical hitches (shuttle run back to the studio for forgotten equipment, crackling DI box on the synth, tube blown in guitar amp so no distortion channel, smacking myself hard in the face with the sharp end of the saxophone...)

Got the best response from people I ever have at any gig i've played - both friends and strangers. People asked for recordings of the set, we got offered a gig in London, another promoter and a manager took our details.

If anyone wants a copy of the set let me know and i'll try and sort somat out... best to contact us on link
Recorded it on the h4 and it sounds mint.
