--> Albert Hofmann, the Swiss chemist who discovered the hallucinogenic drug LSD, has died of a heart attack at his home in Basel at the age of 102.

Mr Hofmann first produced LSD in 1938 while researching the medicinal uses of a crop fungus.

He accidentally ingested some of the drug and said later: "Everything I saw was distorted as in a warped mirror".

LSD: My problem child, by Albert Hoffman (full text)

Everything in my field of vision wavered and was distorted as if seen in a curved mirror. I also had the sensation of being unable to move from the spot. Nevertheless, my assistant later told me that we had traveled very rapidly.

acid.

goodbye Mr. Hoffman. RIP.

Yeah, 102 is a pretty good run if you ask me.
Most of the 'articles' I've seen about this so far have been very short and kind of glib. I think his contribution to world history is actually pretty important. Not to mention the fact that LSD and electronic music are not unknown to each other - I'm thinking Buchla-era, Pranksters etc. And no, I'm not a zany acidhead. Um, ..well at least not anymore.

here's one I thought was OK: link
