--> maybe you've read my blog about my return to france after nearly 1 year in australia.

i was sad, and it took me a while to get used to shitty france.

it's been better for a month or so, and i'd found a new dream, a new purpose: getting a green card to work in the USA and spend a long time there maybe.

and i just learnt that i missed the Lottery...

so next year... but France looks shittier and shittier every day now.

so i'm sad again.

Why is that, France never seemed that shitty to me?!
Good luck in getting a Green Card!

yes, i would like to know that also. france looks pretty good from where i'm sitting (in the US). i've asked french people this same question before but they don't tend to answer or at least not a solid answer. so, what gives? why is france in such bad shape?

Yeah, Australia is great, the people, the scenery, the beach, everthing. I will be sad parting with it too. But France aint that bad either is it?
Recent blogs: The Future Sound Experience?

france is in bad shape partially because of racial tensions.

france looks good from here (UK) too - mind you, that aint hard ahaha.

Racial tensions because of a declining native birth rate and a high immigrant birth rate, high unemployment, high taxes, high COL in general.
It's a shame. Italy was the same way when I talked about it with people there. They love Italy, but the economy makes things hard to deal with at times.
In general, I would say Europe is NOT adapting well to immigration. The US whines and moans about it, but we do a really good job comparatively. The Italians I knew would never dream of eating the food at an immigrant restaurants when I offered to buy.
What is it thats bugging you about France?

you're right about high unemployment and taxes, but i really have to rectify you about the "racial tensions". it's not perfect, for sure, but IMO it's not bad at all. at least it wasn't that bad until our new president arrives... but my english level doesn't allow to talk about this here, and it's not the place to do it anyway, but i think the immigration is not really the main problem: it's used by the politics to excite people's hatred against anything except ... the politics.

i think france is an old country, with at least half the population becoming more and more uncultured, so they are a good prey for unscrupulous politics.

add to this that the "taxes problem" is only caused by a social history (really positive IMO) which led to better social protection for the workers.
that's the big problem now: all the social protection system doesn't match the worldwide business model anymore, and that's what we have to solve.

all those "problems" are creating a really morose atmosphere, everything is going slowly, it's hard to find some jobs (even the odd job) and that's F***ING BUGGING ME ! I love when things go fast, and even faster, that's why i really enjoyed a young country like australia.

i'm sure i'd like USA as well.

like... a bit of NYC, and a bit of SF, and a lot of driving between those two big cities.

i always have a good time in france. they have the best falafel. among other things.

lol

immigration is such an odd issue - somehow small yet big. personally i am cool with it. just wait until global warming takes hold more and we'll see how we all deal with proper immigration...

i hope i'll be dead at that time

i'm working on it everyday

well yeah, there are reasons for those racial tensions, of course (be they founded or unfounded)

i always think that race isnt that big of a deal in America ... that is unitl some screaming liberation theology preacher with a megaphone tells me im simply ignorant to it.

lol at the screaming "crétins"

you see, that's what i want to discover: all those strange people that you have in America. that would last at least 5 years of discoveries (and good laugh).

Come to Canada instead!
