--> OMG, I think I found the origin of the butterzone. I was watching "Hackers" the other day (for some reason, it's a stupidly enjoyable movie) and I heard this dialogue:

hacker's screenplay said: "
KATE
Hey! What are you guys doing in here?

PHREAK
I'm sorry, we're sorry, just checking out your fly laptop!

NIKON
Yeah, it's hyped, you know... you're in the butter zone now, baby.

PHREAK
(smiling)
Uh-huh!

KATE
(her tone changing)
Yeah, it is...
(she comes over to it)
I wanna triple the RAM...
"

This was 1994...so wow.
