So, this time next week I'll be on a real fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants road trip from Nashville , TN to the Tacoma, WA area. That's a link to a map of my trip. If you wanna grab lunch or something, it'd be fun. I don't expect we have a lot of members in some of these really sparsely populated areas, but it seems like we've got at least one in every town in the US lately.
If I can manage to get hotels with wifi, I'm going to try and blog the trip from link
Given that we'll be going through the heart of nowhere for days on end, I don't know whether to expect wifi to be very available. I really have no idea and no stereotype in my mind about places like Wyoming, Iowa and South Dakota.
I'm scared about trying to rent a house without jobs, but we've both got interviews lined up now, so thats a HUGE step out of the way. I think things are going to turn out way better than we had expected.
From the "it's a small world" file: I just found out that I have a cousin who lives in one of the towns I PLANNED on stopping at in Wyoming, and I have a second cousin who is an educator in Gig Harbor. Also, my wife's boss's sister-in-law also owns an identically named company providing the same services in Tacoma.
So let me know in the comments if you know a nice property for rent near you in the Tacoma/Kitsap area, or if you live along my trip and think you could grab a bite to eat with a tired, grungy guy with a motorhead sideburn mustache and a pancho villa temporary tattoo and his probably disinterested wife!

dood you should come east thru Kansas and up thru Colorado... we'll have that lunch. then you could go north thru to Yellowstone and the Tetons... much more scenic I think. Then you'd still get all of Montana and Idaho etc.

I've heard that the drive through Kansas is "so boring that you won't be able to tell whether your car is moving."

I can help you look for a place in T-town if you want, if you tell me what kind of thing you're looking for. you said you were looking more for gig harbor though?

how far north are we talking? like Kingston? what about bremerton and silverdale? I love the looks of the north kitsap area but I am concerned that I might have a job in Belfair, and its harder in general to find work the farther I get from Tacoma and Seattle.

I wonder what's happening to Delta right now?
And I wonder if he's going to be the Fresh prince of Belfair?
