--> i wanted an excuse to try and post a video here, so i shot a test drive of my new walkman distortion box. it's simpler than the previous one ( link ) but it's much more predictable. this one's got 2 types of distortion, controllable by the tape type switch. it self-oscillates like the previous one and sometimes you can also get radio also there was a bass boost switch, so i removed the plastic around it and made it a touchpad-like control, which is cool and lame at the same time.

i thought i'd squeeze it in a cassette tape case but that was harder than i expected, it turns out there's a great difference between "almost fits" and "fits". i wanted to make it a little prettier but the exam period has started again. i noticed the vid has sync issues but i didn't want to see windows' movie maker for even another minute, so here goes:

ummm, how do i embed then? :S

Is this a distortion made with the circuit of a walkman? Sounds interesting!

yes, i followed these instructions to make it -> link with a few slight changes

sometimes embedding works sometimes it doesn't. don't know why.

really awesome idea with mounting it in a cassette box!!!

i have "walkman" i picked up at goodwill recently that i am trying to make a distortion out of but the only small screwdrivers i have won't get it open. thanks for reminding me i have to pick up a better set later today.
