input1 sm57 for flute, shaker, harmonicas, and fingersnaps / input2 yamaha RX21 drummachine, input3 Guitar, Tape in RCA was my SP303 (enabled to sample everything going through...) > my Eurorack UB502 mixer > array of guitar pedals > to Line 6 Delay Modeler > to an old beat up Peavy Guitar amp.

So for me, two technical blunder shows under my belt. At this 2nd attempt I had this vision of keeping it Super lo-fi and intimate and accomplished this... Untilllllll I bombarded the onlookers with vicious shards of feedback and timing errors.

So why am I posting this?
I may have the opportunity to do it again next month and i want to smooth over some issues. This was all done in a former bank!! sound bounces all over stone walls with no windows SOoooo I think i could even get away with my KRK rokit 5 monitors. Am I insane? Anyone ever play a show with your studio monitors?

I also need to get over this fucking stage fright, its terrible.
wah... boohoo.. i know.

recordings?!??! documentation?!?!?

oh sweet! too bad about the sound issues...but that's something you'll learn about as you go, i guess.

i always have killer stage fright for about the first minute and a half when i play...like, knees shaking and all that. but then it goes away and everything's good.

evidence or stfu, i know i know.
well there were alot of people there, Maybe i could provide a few pictures but I dont believe anyone was recording. In the event that someone DIIIid i will phrosht here. Learn as i go fer sure.

also. If anyone would like to post what theyre playing through (one mang show senarios) id be interested to know. I gotta weigh my options out.

Ditto. I'd like to see you play again sometime - perhaps even do another show together. Good luck next month though.

aw yea T! Glad your playing in front of some crowds. i bet it was awesome. and yes, documentation or please be quiet. ;) fuckin ROCK IT mang!

i think ipod + guitar + me = jdg. not a bad idea though.

yeh, about miami. It was weird.
all the kids presenting art were very cool though. If i can break through to that fistfull it'll be well worth it.

mr pangda. dude. the people that came to see me at the first show were very impressed with your stuff. they knew you were deep and hell yeah, ill do another show with you. Theres a girl i know in O town / stardust again?

thanks joey definitley if they post anything ill share.
try to find a few things you are going to play and keep track of. cut down on the number of things you have to do at once. don't over automate or record but try to limit you overstretching yourself.
i still get stage fright. just drink a beer or try to mellow out somehow. take deep breaths, count down a bit, repeat. all advice i got on em411 when i first found the site.

welll gddddamn ...

you know i didnt realize untiol you r-mentioned that show ...

but my freind from spain went and saw someone there or something not long ago and just fuckin raved aboutthe place ...

funny

luckily i've only played a couple of times infront of people i mostly know or people that mostly don't really care about mistakes or whatever the fuck you're playing. I just attack people with some acid and some jungle and sometimes some breakcore. But i never really brought my 'studio' with me on stage, i didn't have the oppertunity yet to do such jams live for people. Would kick ass though to just stand there with the stuff i have right now and just jam it out on my MMT8.

But don't let such mistakes de-motivate you in any way. Most people just didn't even notice, nor even care about it. It's live, everyone hears music in a different way, and reacts to music in a different way.

its definitley a cool space to play a show at colin

thanks for the insight guys.
Ive decided on no de-motivation for sure! I think thats what my first show was for, and it didnt stop me.

Glad to hear about the show! Don't worry about the glitches too much, they will always happen!

best of luck Tom.

you driving again?
