--> hey all.
i blogged about this earlier but since it's happening this week i thought i'd give you an update... so here it goes.
this week unrecognizable now is heading down to LA to play a pair of shows. the first one will be with on Thursday at Pehrspace in echo park.
The second one is an all night ambient music event on saturday at the santa monica pier as part of TONALISM which is sponsored by DubLab.com (which in turn is part of GLOW... a big Art party sponsored by the city). it should be pretty amazing.
here is a site w/ a bunch of information...
link
Also,
To commemorate our trip, we will be making a little 3 song EP on CDR + USB drive called 'for sleeping it off'. it's being mastered by our good friend JDG (john mccaig). whatever we have left over from those shows we will attempt to sell online.

Hope some of you guys can make it.

sweet! those both sound like great gigs. the all night ambient show at the pier sounds particularly fascinating. where is the actual venue? on the pier? under the ferris wheel? ;)

USB drive release.. sounds like a good idea. i've spoken w/one or two people about doing that. where'd you get the USB drives at?

well.. have fun in LA.

Good luck marc + matt!

Both gigs sound great.

Say hi to Frosty for me (though he probably doesn't remember me).

Have a great show!!

thanks guys.
the venue is the Looff Hippodrome Carousel on the pier. i guess it's historic so there is a bunch of red tape involved.

ted, i will for sure tell frosty you say hi. how do you know him again? ex room mates?

nice!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will definetly make it out to at least one of these

how did you guys organize the show at the pier? great idea!!!

i'm going to send you an email, i would love to talk to somone about booking something like this, at some point

anyhow, congrats, cant wait to check it out

awesome. it would be cool to have you come out.
it was the DubLab / SASSAS people that asked us to play. they set it up w/ the city as part of their bigger Art festival.
you should talk to DubLab. they are rad about making cool shit happen. like the last party that i went to that they put on was at the firehouse from ghostbusters!!! so great. w/ three rooms of great music.
john coltrane tribute band (full of people that used to play w/ him) upstairs was Daedalus in one room w/ Dntel and Devendra Banheart in the other (plus a lot more people that i didn't know).
they are a fantastic organization

cool, ty for the info, i'll contact him soon just to introduce myself, but wow, congrats again

the whole thing looks incredible

this sounds amazing! congrats!!!
