--> <b>Musica Excentrica</b> proud to present our new compiliation dedicated to most impressive film-directors of XX century - <b>Andrey Tarkovsky</b>.

In the entire history of cinema there has never been a director, who has made such a dramatic stand for the human spirit as he did. Today, when cinema seems to have drowned in a sea of glamorized triviality, when human relationships on screen have been reduced to sexual intrigue or sloppy sentimentality, and baseness rules the day - this man appears as a lone warrior standing in the midst of this cinematic catastrophe, holding up the banner for human spirituality.

The Genius of modern Russian cinema - hailed by Ingmar Bergman as "the most important director of our time" - died an exile in Paris in December 1986.

After 22 years, passed from that year we decided to ask <b><em>Kim Cascone, Astro, Violet, 833-45, Kenneth Kirschner, Astrowind, Pink Twins, Alva Noto, Nobukazu Takemura and Nikita Golyshev</em><strong><em></em></strong> </b> what do they think about Tarkovsky's phenomenon. This "musical answers" are now gathered in a big compiliation, and we invite everyone to explore it:

yeah, Andrew Tarkovsky is great, but so is correct use of html tags!

yeah, i love Alexander Tarkovsky ... great stuff

Actually if you think about it, writing the code out this way is very Tarkovsky.

awesome. hell yeah, stalker is one of my personal favorites. i just hope soderbergh doesn't try to remake it with george clooney and brad pitt or some bullshit.

listen I loves me some tarkovsky too, but this sort of nostalgic generalization about what was v. the current state of cinema is just silly. Concluding that modern movies only scratch the survace of humanity in this way just says to me that you're not looking deeply enough.

That said, this is awesome.

also, I fucking loved Soderbergh's Solaris.

hey, i thought it was pretty good too, but i think soderbergh remaking stalker would be the equivalent to radiohead remaking dark side of the moon. good, but pointless since the original is near perfection as is.

my major issue with the new solaris is that george clooney always plays the same role in every movie... himself. also, i wish they would stop recycling material all the time in hollywood. if someone tries to update citizen cane with johhny depp, i will have to go to burbank and choke a bitch.

citizen kane... wtf.

johnny depp's already starred in citizen 'caine once or twice
