i my triggerfinger

i use live and when i'm working in my studio. i find it really helpful, not just for making percussive stuff, but also for triggering sections of loops for building grooves. it has just enough knobs/sliders to make it versatlie without being to bulky to fit in a backpack. usb powered too

Gotta agree with skab, my trigger finger was a good investment. I use it for drum programming / triggering noises etc. So much more intuitive than building beats on a keyboard Also use the knobs and sliders with Live’s impulse to stretch and transpose samples, and to trigger other effects.

EDIT:
Also if you buy a pad controller like the trigger finger or the padkontrol they are velocity and pressure sensitive, meaning you can map the pressure control to interesting things like LP filter frequency to add effects

I've got a PadKontrol and it was worth it for me. It's definitely easier, and more fun, to pound out beats. It's also good for triggering samples (obviously). I don't bother getting into complicated mapping because the PK only has a couple knobs and I have another controller with boatloads of 'em.

I was interested in the MPD24, but who knows when that baby's coming out?

The trigger finger was one of the cheapest and greatest investments I have made. I use traktor live and I have a set up with my trigger finger that allows me to trigger all the effects and then the top 8 pads I have setup for skipping forward a beat etc so I can do mad beat juggling with it. It's the center piece for my live sets, and people find it more interesting when I'm doing that and not just staring at a computer screen.

what i'm wondering, is which one has the best feel? I've been using my friend's micrkontrol for a while now, and the pads on that thing suck. the only good thing about them is that they make great buttons. you can set send midi controller messages, in either a toggle or gate mode. that's really handy, but as far as playing beats on them, they suck.

i want a pad controller that's very sensitive, cause when i play faster stuff, i don't press down as hard.
