Another Visualization Gig

So, like the Detroit Windsor Funk before it, I have another opportunity to compose some music for a 3d visualization my group at work is doing. Its a complete overhaul desing of an interchange where they will sink an existing road and build a bridge for the cross street. The idea for the video is to show the designed structure and its impact on the surrounding area and businesses. And since the whole thing is supposed to alleviate congestion and traffic my idea was to convey thru the music a kind of free flowing and continuous motion.
I was in LA last week with my brother for Astroid's wedding and we were listening to Phillip Glass while traversing the city. We determined that Glass is great motion/traffic music, maybe because of the Koyaanisqatsi effect, idk. Anyway I've decided to do my bit in that style, with hella arpeggiations, syncopations, polyrhythms and such. I will post a draft of it here in a couple of days but I wanted to hear yours thoughts about how you might approach that kind of project, given the thematic material that I've described.
It's difficult to sell the idea of it being worth it for them to pay me to do it, rather than just using stock, unlicensed music for it, but I maintain the argument (and my boss supports me) that it's a valuable part of the package that we can market. sounds cool.
I would field record actual traffic movement and convolve the melodic or musical sounds with the traffic recordings to give instruments the actual flow. but people tell me i'm too literal sometimes...so.
