--> it's been raining non stop for some hours now, it also rained a little last night. there's a thunderstorm going on at the moment. i am so happy. after 4 months of almost unbearable heat with 1-2 day breaks, i'll be able to sleep properly and stay in my room / studio again. 3 days ago it was 28 degrees celsius at 4am. yesterday it was 26 at 8pm.

and this year the summer was mild compared to last year. i wonder where we're headed towards. is next year going to be worse, like 45 degrees from may to september? if so, is it possible to be productive under these conditions? holding pens or books and touching knobs or keys while i'm all sweaty and try to breath isn't my favourite.

however, i'm not thinking about all that now, i'm just relieved that summer is almost gone and my favourite season is coming up. i'll be mostly studying and working through it but everything feels better when it's autumn. sorry for this, em411 was the closest available outlet at the moment. have a nice one

ps: the pic is from my village

whats a village? is it like a strip mall? how about a strip mine?

wow. That looks like just the place to be when it's horrible and hot actually. You are very lucky! The concrete jungle is not fun during humid summers because the pavement traps the heat.

nice pic. I thought it never rained in greece

I really never thought when I moved to the Pacific NW that I would go so long without real rain either!
It's been really disconcerting lately how wild the weather is. New Orleans is about to get hit again on the same week it was hit by a hurricane 3 years ago.
The weather in Nashville was unbearable this summer according to friends. Most nights in June July and August are about 80-90 at midnight. The worst thing about heat in the city is how much garbage stink gets 'activated' by the heat in the dumpsters.

wow. Beautiful place. Go on, house swap! In a few years your house will be worthless anyway...with everyone moving north! I can do hot with walks like that close by! X

nice pic! wouldn't mind a house-swap either, it just rained for two straight months over here in sad ol' belgium - or at least it felt that way
many moons ago i did a (ballet) performance in greece during summer, it was pleasantly warm in open air, and suddenly beyond all expectation it began to rain. the great thing was that the audience didn't seem to mind at all, they all stayed in their seats, which was pretty amazing to watch from the stage - you do watch the audience when you have the chance

unfortunately my village is a 2 hour drive away, i'm staying in Athens, in which life conditions are getting worse. the worst part is that people don't give a fuck anymore, our brains don't function properly because of the heat. car accidents are double during the summer because drivers are in a hurry to get to an air conditioned space.

but yeah, the village is a great place to live in. i wish i could move there. the suburban railway will reach the town close to my village in 2009 so maybe it will be possible then.

delete- ive never met you, right? but for some reason you were in my dream last night (i dont remember what you looked like but it was meant to be you)
i was in a car with you and you were driving like you didnt care what happened- going straight across junctions without slowing down or looking if theres other cars and doing sharp corners really fast also without looking- there seemed to be no reason for it- we werent trying to escape from somewhere or anything like that- it was like thats how you normally drive
i always find it interesting when i dream of people i dont know

dreaming about people i don't know is indeed very interesting, especially when you get to compare the dream version to the real one afterwards.

i don't drive like that though even when i've had a couple of drinks in me. em411 people can verify this
