so i was browsing last.fm this morning and was looking at the people listening to my music (yes – sad but true) and i found tracks by an artist called nq with titles that weren't mine. so i googled a bit and it turned out, that there's some other artist called nq releasing chiptunesq noise stuff.
thing is this artist just released his/her first record and i'm doing nq-stuff since 2002. what would you do?
i just wrote the label an email, if the could give me the contact-info, so i can contact the artist.
that's really annoying and i'm pissed off about myself, that i choose such a dumb artist-name. hence i share the name with that god-damn boring nq arbuckle and lot's of people from somewhere in asia. dunno if it is thailand or the philipines, where nq seems to be a normal name.

there's a grunge band from belgium that has the same name like my band (it's a really shitty bandname though...).
but i don't really care about it. i think they don't have a label or a release.

yeah I used to release as tonearm but there's a guy in NY using it, he's more popular than me so i changed it to tnerm. what can you do, sometimes a change is good.
or just use a bunch of aliases like afx or vladislav

yeah, thing is i released way more records than both dudes together and i really like my name, though maybe i change it nevertheless

i saw some flyer on the internet that said Quip , other band, other band, and i thought I couldn't remember being booked
for that gig. Then it turns out they are a rock band from Holland. And there's a rapper, and there's an Electro artist. But to me there is only one. So i don't care.
Just ignore it. They will go away.

there's a polish soundsystem called Deer, my fate on last.fm is to be lumped in with ragga and dancehall. unless they get their shit together and move the database to something that allows for multiple artists with the same name.
