excellent interview.

i've been reading lots of alan moore recently and he's fucking awesome. Promethea is the best introduction to the idea of 'magic' that i've ever seen, and it's great fiction too. (they say a lot of fiction gives you some information too, and that's one of the things that makes the books interesting, eg memoirs of a geisha provides information on geishas - bad book and bad information, but you get my point)

alan moore seems to really know what he's talking about in print as in this interview. a great read.

thanks for the link. alan moore is what i would call a meta entertainer. he's always slipping some kind of information in that ties to the story or somehow binds the reader to it. i think he was practicing magik before initiation. i just picked up the first issue of miracleman. amazing shit. if you get the chance bit torrent the miracleman series. incredible stuff.

so far i've read:
promethea 1-3 (collections, not issue #s)
top 10 1 & 2
saga of the swamp thing
Supreme: Story of the year
assorted stories from the DCU (a collection of DC comics written by moore - don't remember the name)

i read all these in like the last 3 weeks.

they're all great. promethea was my fave, can't wait to read 4 and 5!

i would highly recommend watchmen, from hell, and v for vendetta. amazing anarchist/geomancy lit. promethea is probably some of his best optimistic comics. its long too so he can really take his ideas far and the story can really evolve.

Alan Moore is one of my favorite Crazy People Who Look Like Jesus, but I had a hard time getting into Promethea--bit of Wonder Woman vibe that put me off. After reading these posts, however, I'll give it another go!
