Hey all - It's time for Mixit 69.
This is going to be a little different, with extended sample submission time, extended composition phase time, and hopefully more participation from some of the old 'Mixit' alumni, as well as newbies.
If you're new to Mixits, get in on Mixit 69 and see what fun can be had. Mixits work like this:
Users submit samples for a given time period. The samples are not made available to anyone until the Compose phase begins. When the Compose phase begins, the samples are "live" and you can download them and begin composing a tune using only those samples provided. Samples can be manipulated any way you like, as long as no sound in your submission came from any other source.
When the deadline is reached, everyone's submitted tracks are made available to users to listen to, comment on, etc.
It's a great way to add to your sample collection, a fun exercise in music composition, and just flat out fun to do, and a tasty way to do it.

There's plenty of time -- we've still got almost two weeks to upload samples, so raid your collections, make up a few new ones, and get them sent in.. then the composition phase will begin. Surely we can all find a little time for 69.... Mixit..69... that is.

Does everyone submit a sample (or two) or just the person hosting it or what?
If you do not submit a sample can you still take part in it?
Is there a theme? As in, only sounds made from your kitchen, or something?
Am I asking questions that are already answered on the Mixit site?

Anyone can upload samples, anyone can participate. Sometimes we've done themes, other times not. I think the Mixit number itself gives us plenty of theme inspiration ;)

mulletballet: just a suggestion to keep an eye on the sample pool after a week to make sure it's not _too_ large. just my $0.05 (the price of copper is just too high)
