--> Hello all,

Ive been a bit quiet lately as Ive been sorting out a new place to live and I can only post whilst at work, which has been really busy lately.

Ive moved from the horrible dossy flat in Catford, South London to a lovely, clean, quiet 2 bedroom flat in West London. Im no longer in zone 3, an area populated by nutters, god freaks and generally unpleasant people and now live in one populated by much the same but greener and in a much quieter part of London [zone 6]!

Yes, I am paying much more rent than before but that was the only benefit of the old place. With the new place, I have a room for exclusive use as a studio!

1st pic is the studio [partial] in old place. 2nd is the new in its ready-to-be-assembled state.

Also, on Saturday Im off to spend 6 days at a friends villa near Loule in Portugal. [3rd pic!]

And one last thing, me hearties! Dont forget that tomorrow is Talk Like A Pirate Day!!!!!11!

dope. bet your psyched. is london really divided by zones officially?

have a good time man. never been to porto but i wanna go someday.

hope the move goes smoothly !!

Ig: London isnt 'officially' divided into zones but the transport is: link [on that map, I used to live south east, near lewisham and now live top right near Uxbridge [where the blue and purple-ish lines meet!]

I live a bit further out but it only takes me about 15-20 mins extra, door to door to get into work

adc: the move went on Monday and did go incredibly smooth. Funnily it took about 3 hours to pack the van and about 30 mins to unload, if that.

Also, the other major benefit is that Im nearer my family so I get to see them more often.

oh duh. that makes sense.

anyway- it all sounds good. i hope the new space turns out to be peaceful and creative.

I like the usage of zone nomenclature, I feel like you live in a place where they one day might have cameras everywhere... oh wait... they do...

solar villa looks so, so nice.

Congrats!! Glad you got far away from Catford and the craziness.

Enjoy Portugal, you bastard.

looks great old man
oooh that would be cool if the house in portugal was where your studio was

good to hear! a nice place to live helps things so much.

dude. clean up your room.

i'm glad t hear that move finally happened _ out of catford.
hope you get enough decent time to spent in your new flat.

enjoy your holidays.

I find that changes like that can be very helpful. Sometimes just tearing down everything, reorganizing, and wiring up everything can be a cathartic experience. I find some level of therapy in wiring things up, getting everything how I like it. If I were you, and had a dedicated room for studio, I'd employ this opportunity to do acoustic betterment. Bass traps, broadband absorbers, and the like. I hope you post pictures upon its completion.

how is uxbridge top right on the map?

huh huh huh, pardon the silly norwejun.

great! sounds like youre doing good and portugal seems so right now. real happy for you chris, congrats!

wow and wow! Nice new studio, and cool vacation spot! YOU IS SO LUCKY!!!!

nice - now get some electronic funkiness out of all those boxes
