So, who's going this year?

It's looking huge...I'm personally really excited about the Deconstructing Pop showcase on Thursday, and the Ghostly Int'l showcase on Saturday. The finale is going to be pretty excellent too, from the looks of it. But I'm gonna try to check out a little of everything. I missed out on volutneering this year, which means I had to actually pay for a pass...but it does mean I have more time to enjoy the music, and won't msis out on things because of volunteer shifts.
So Seattle....who's ready to dance to some techno and bliss out to some ambient this weekend?

Throughout our history, Decibel has always explored the relationship between visual art and electronic music. To commemorate the fifth year anniversary, Decibel will be hosting two OPTICAL Multimedia Showcases. Both showcases investigate the intersections between audio and video technology through debut live collaborations between leading-edge video and audio artists. All Optical events are held in a theater with limited capacity and have a tendency to sell out quickly, so be sure to arrive early and secure your place. For guaranteed admission we recommend purchasing an "All Access Pass."

I'm defintiely more a fan of the click click cut pop crackle bloop bloop myself, but I still think I'm gonna have some fun. The big showcases this year are definitely way more dance oriented than they have been in the past, it seems.

i'm gonna go to the ghostly showcase, but that's it. yeah way too much oontz for me. the only other thing that looked cool was thurs, but the fact that i have to work on fri vetoed that....

imo, it's all about the ambient showcase on Sunday @ the Triple Door. Good god, they got some peps from Type Records. I think they are the best label producing vinyl currently, but Expanding is a close 2nd.
Deaf Center and Helios. Oh god, they made me actually buy tix, and I'll have to drive back to Portland after the show ends for work early Monday morning. But damnit, it'll be worth it!!
