--> managed to make it out last night to catch jamie lidell. i'd seen him once before by himself and it was awesome. the band he's touring with adds to the awesome so you get more awesome. clear?

If he comes to your town you should check him. great performer. really gets into it all and has a great shtick and stage presence and of course is one talented mofo. he did his usual mid set techno rock out w/a twist. he had a feed from the main outs of the FOh mixer or something and was grabbing sounds from the band and then layering them and one by one the band members got up and wandered into the crowd to dance while Jamie warped all those sounds into some seriously groovy dub bas heavy techno that he of course then layered his voice into.

simple great. very inspiring. go see him. he gets borderline unhinged from time to time on stage and the sincerity is refreshing and totally captivating.

I don't even own any of his records.. just some supercollider stuff from years ago and it just doesn't matter. his live show is the bizness.

i've seen him once at sonar. was the best show there... except our own... :-)

the 'super collider' stuff is the best stuff he ever did, imo. real future funk/soul. i hope he and vogel team up again soon.

yeah, i saw him tour for 'multiply' and he was solo and he used his voice and looped it and built up different vocal sounds in real time into some super groovy remix of one of the tracks from the album and then he started singing over the whole arrangement. it was a 'holy frickin' shit!' moment.

My favorite album was Muddlin Gear, and still is. It's what brought me to em411 actually. I have seen him 3 times, twice before he did the whole Soul switchover, and he blew my mind on stage. I still think he is amazing, and hope he inspires others to do the hybrid-crossover whatever goes music that he has really broken through with.

the guy does not disappoint. go see him live if he comes anywhere near your part of the world.

damn. didn't even know he was gonna be here. caught him the first time when he came through for multiply. blew my brains out.

i didn't know until monday. he played the wonder ballroom. big venue. lot's of space. high ceilings.

yeah, i saw him twice at the doug fir. his live show is always impressive.

he is touring with elton john in germany. also britain. wow that bizarre
link

but agreed his stuff is really great

I liked him better when he was solo and made tracks on the fly with a 606, Dr.Sample and a mic. More like a male house diva on crack...
Now it's like a whiteboy british version of Sam Cook. .. still good .... my parents would like it more than me..

Played with him once. .. super super duper nice guy!!!

Sounds rad. I had to work... but bummed I missed it! Please download your experience at the show to a thumbdrive and mail it to me!

Saw him in Boston with Jimmy Edgar for Multiply. Real good time. I miss the electronics now that he has a real band.
