How does it differ from sooperlooper?

i've never tried superlooper, but, from my experience it's very flexible and comprehensive looping program. The drawbacks are that it's little user unfriendly and i had issues with clipping (a little tricky to get the levels just right so they don't clip), but besides that very nice. I don't use it much any more because it's a little to complex (i.e. i'm to lazy to learn it) for it to be a program that you can open up and have instant looping capabilities, but when i first started using it i was pretty impressed by the functionality.
I even emailed the guy to see how i could donate $ for it, but he never responded.

I like sooperlooper, but it took a while to find an arrangement that works for me.

I have the sooperlooper AU in ableton on a midi track and note mapped to my FCB1010 (overdub, record, undo, redo, speed, direction, multiple). I have an audio in track set on monitor in that sends the audio to sooperlooper. On this audio track I have five or so parallel fx chains that I can switch on and off to produce different textures that can get recorded into the looper.

It's not completely optimal, but it works pretty well with both my cello and guitar. What I would like is the ability to record loops and mute them easily - I guess I could have each loop on a separate out, I suppose. Warrants further thought...hmmm

erm,i used superlooper very briefly and liked it but had been using mobius on win xp for a while before that.
i found mobius really easy to learn but slightly difficult to get ableton to host sync to it - see previous blog.
you can easily mute or solo anyone of the 8 tracks in mobius.
