The Clarion Fund, a non-profit organization, is distributing 28 million copies of a DVD called "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West." Given the time of it's release, it is apparent that the Fund is trying to stoke irrational fear of Islam and strengthen the rather flimsy associations of Islam with one presidential candidate.
Unfortunately, the mainstream media has not denounced this DVD. Quite the contrary, major newspapers across the U.S. are distributing the video for free in their daily publications, with the Clarion Fund targeting primarily contested states. Not surprisingly, Fox News and their acolytes have jumped on the anti-Islam bandwagon, with professional pontificators like Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, et al comparing the Quran to the worst strains of European fascism.
This is an unconscionable act of bigotry on the part of the mainstream media, many of whose pundits have ties to government think tanks like the Heritage Fund and the Bush Administration. To get the full details on this frightening campaign, check out Fairness and Accuracy In Reporting's (FAIR) report called "Smearcasting: How Islamophobes spread fear, bigotry, and misinformation"

I don't think they can pull a swift boat with this.
Already people are tired of McCain attacking Obama.
At this point, I kind of imagine Obama as one of those kung-fu masters who hardly moves and uses his opponent's momentum against him.

I am agnostic, to start off... So my bias is with "Good" people. Not muslims or jews.
there is a serious Judification effort in Jerusalem right now. Temples are being built right next to Mosques, Muslim children are made to scale walls to get to school, meanwhile, there are gunmen on every roof waiting to shoot one of them if they seem "suspicious". They are trying to cut off Palestinians from being able to move anywhere except for shrinking quarters that they keep sectioning off. Border violence is increasing and 90% of it is Israel right now. Take a snapshot in your head because you will see the rhetoric say the exact opposite.
a 17 year old palistinian was shot while visiting friends near Gaza two days ago. Israel Military said they were looking for someone else and it was an accident. The kid was pummeled with rifle shots. Thats murder.
No offense but inciting violence is only going to make more "Radicalised" muslims. I can only hope that people can form real opinions and do real pragmatic/skeptical research. Look at the recent treaties in Israel alone and you see a big part of the problem. And also, if you see how many fundamentalist Jewish members of American society (#1 influence on Israel Palestinian policy) act, it is sad and uninformed. There is a real problem here and it isnt muslim or jewish. It is simply faith, on both sides and entitlement within human desire. Shame on us.

yes, major problem. the myth supporting the ''war on terror' has to be kept up, alot of people profit from it.
So my bias is with "Good" people. Not muslims or jews.
it has nothing to do with being a jew or muslim anyway. its what they want you to believe in, its how the whole game is being spun.
alot of jews are very much against all this shit that is going on in the apartheid state of israel, for example these guys:
link
zionism is not equal to judaism, as much as the media tries to hammer this into our minds, calling anyone critical of all the crap a 'jew hater' or - if its coming from a jew - a 'self-hating-jew'. im sick of it, to say the least.
i seriously couldnt care less if someone is jewish or muslim or whatnot.
and yes, israel is an apartheid. or how else do you call a state with 'jews only' roads, just to mention one example?
no matter how it is being spun by the media and co., its a simple fact.its just forbidden to speak it out.
im also not quite sure this has much to do with McInsane vs Obama. Sad fact is, Obama is just as much 'behind' the 'war on terror' as McInsane is, just different. In a more 'popular' way. But in the end, he supports the same myths and lies.
ok i do agree that the whole issue is more 'beneficial' to McInsane than Obama. But then, its needed to support the crap to become president of the USA these days. How else do you get all the money and support to win an election like this?
not without the support of the 'military industrial complex', and the israel lobby. sad fact, again.

salamiphobia?
mccain's a dead duck. i haven't heard obama say ANYTHING that wasn't in line with this. he'd be branded a terrorist if he did!
the thing you've got to realize about america is that this garbage has been going on for fifty years. there's ALWAYS something to be scared of, and the people in power are more than willing to let ignorance run rampant if it gives them a greater chance of being re elected, a greater chance that the courts will look the other way, or whatever. this is just an extension of the cold war / vietnam war / cold war II / war on drugs / war on terrorism.... have you read 1984?
I wish it wasn't so blatantly racist and ignorant this time, but next time around who knows? it could be worse.
my ideas:
war on corruption (YES!)
war on poverty (think that's been done)
or, how about the ultimate:
war on war!
war war war war war war war war war war war war

"Everybody's worried about stopping terrorism."
huh, really?
how does this fit in with the last 8 years, or with the fact that 'terrorism' is exactly *the* beneficial thing to the people who talk about 'fighting' it?

well... actually, his reference goes very deep.
He implies that what we say about stopping terrorism is the perfect inverted political precedence to propagate terrorism. What you said is exactly his point. I suppose you havent read any chomsky. Nevermind. Im not trying to fight...
But you should go ahead and assume you understand why I quoted him, its easier for you to do that I suppose...

i have read alot of chomsky. i was a fan.
my point was, he makes it sound as if he believes its *really* about stopping terrorism.
how stupid would he have to be to believe that?

uhuh, ok, i was jumping at that. cause of chomsky. not really cause of that one quote. i put that one quote in context with other stuff he said recently .
like , for example, his 'blind' acceptance of the official 911 conspiracy theory. sorry, i dont buy that. and i dont believe he does either.
