miss em411. been busy with web development and work.
had a chance to get out of town and go shoot some prop guns that are not so much props as they are working weaponry. no, we don't keep them at our house =).
I'm not a gun person really, but had a chance to play with some props from a theater production last year. Yes real guns in theater.
So the guns are Russian and the bullets are Romanian.
7.62mm x 54R (r = rim/ridge). quite a lot of powder for a bullet.
good fun for less than $10. Drove out to a friends' private property and had some fun.
Dale Cooper would have loved the weekend excursion.

and we found no duds at all. did i mention the guns have their bayonets attached still after 50 years in storage?

i just woke up from a dream that i was running around a compound (wal-mart) with a rifle... shooting people. then i ran out of bullets. i was shooting at a guy when it happened, but since i ran out, and he was stocking shelves, i did the logical thing: i asked him where i could find me. "we don't produce these in america anymore (LOL!), but ya we got a few left." odd to think he'd sell me the bullets after firing at him but HEY what's good business huh?

sounds like a mosin...u can get one for around 100 dollars. great gun. the russians beat the nazi's with um. they r best shot at dusk or night, cuz they shoot a huge fireball out the front...here is my favorite mosin vid.

no the link mosin nagant is a bolt action rifle. and the sks, as far as i know, is a sort of crappy version of the ak-47. the wiki says they made 17 million of um (mosin's) by the end of wwII. i like the bolt action myself. also the mosin's r sniper rifles wiha beyonet on the end of em, so's u can impail whoever lives through the enormous shelling.

and today, I went door to door with my GF reminding people that they had 'til Tuesday to vote... Its nice to know that 90% of my neighbors are voting for the same political party this time. A real solid neighborhood... =)
but sometimes I wonder, do the workers control the means of production? i dunno...
