--> We did it chums. I'm in tears honestly. Fireworks are going off in my street. We did it. We did it.

Woooo!

(also: Hooooooo!)

^^^^wut he sed ^^^^

bill maher's usually an ass but he made an interesting observation about jackie robinson.

being the 1st black anything means you have to be absolutely perfect. otherwise at the 1st sign of a mistake, critics will just say... typical black guy.

i'll admit, he certainly does inspire me but i'm not sure if it's because he's that good or because political discourse has been so bad for so long. go to the library and pull some old newspapers from the early 1900's and just read the cover stories. public discourse used to be aimed at such a higher audience than today.

fuk. yes.

feeling the luvs.

oh well, maybe next time we'll get another rich white guy in there.

did you see the flash mob in front of the white house?! RAD!

how are your local initiatives going.

anyone in SF going to get some hookers?

Yes You Did! Congrats, this is really awesome news guys.
Hell YEAH! What a historic moment. Amazing! Now, we can get back to electronic music! YES WE CAN!

i feel more relief that mccain didn't win, rather than elation over obama's victory. i guess as a leftist i find much to dislike about obama's policies, so i can only give a luke-warm 'whoo-hoo.'

yes, it's relief for me too, but only partial. i'll feel much better when i see troops going back to the US on the news.

A black man in the White House......

Who'd have thought it?

Yes!

PPL freaking out on Hawethorne...

Hopeful for my friends working on equality for humans (No on prop 8) and protection for animals (YES on prop 2) in Ca.

Hopeful for an end to the patriot act and the AETA, and willing to work for that.

:-)

Never wished I was American before, but I would've given anything to be more than a casual onlooker last night.

Yeah, I was crying too! And the mere thought chokes me up even now, of all the hope people are feeling. I was watching MSNB and at about ten to eleven suddenly that dude... Matthews I think is his name... suddenly there was this amazing change of tone in his voice, and you could see everyone there was so excited but just waiting until eleven to call it, and that's when I first started to feel really moved. That this hideous campaign was over and Obama, who definitely took the high road, won! Then when they cut to all those black kids out in the audience who were so happy, calling their friends you could read their lips: oh my god! It just makes me so very very happy and proud, for once!

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!
