--> Does anyone in the UK have an old broken ibookg3 (2usb) logic board they could donate?

To cut a long story short, I've cracked the ethenet socket, making it intermitent at the best of times.

I guess there should be plenty around from the old logic board death fiasco of a few years back. I've had a look and it looks reasonably simple to replace the said socket.

your best bet is to buy a usb to ethernet adapter.

Are there any mac compatible ones out there?

My bestest bet is to get an airport card, but the type that fits my mac is pretty rare and expensive now.

More reasons to speed up getting a macbook!

A friend had this problem a while back after a lightning strike knocked out his iMac card.

While there aren't any companies that supply drivers for their USB to Ethernet adaptors, there is a free 3rd party driver that works with some commercial adaptors. It's USB 2.0 compatible and is a Universal Binary (not that you would need it, but just to let folks know).

Oog. More ibook problems.

LOL, Apple products might be 'perfect' but far from not problematic. Can't help loving their against the grain attitude though! but, that's another flame war!
