--> Each year on Nov 9th I post about my guinea pig, Princess Leia. She was very sick a couple of weeks ago and I was scared so I am going to write about that. First, we noticed blood in her urine and she squeaked in pain and distress when peeing. I was very worried and took her to the small animal hospital. She got examinations and X-rays, and she didn't like it at all but was very brave. The vet found very big bladder stones, so gave her some painkiller medicine so she would hopefully pass them out by herself. She cried in the nighttime, and it nearly broke my heart. She also got antibiotics to fight infection, and she didn't like this at all, she just lay in the corner and didn't eat or drink or pee. I thought she was going to die, and was very sad, but at the end of the week a second set of x-rays showed the stones had gone. Hooray! Because she was so sick, the other piggies had replaced her as leader in the piggie heirarchy, so she got a bit bullied at mealtimes. I sneakily fed her extra food during cuddle times. She's my best friend and loves cuddles.
Now she is feeling much better!
