hey folks, I am having an ambient / electronic show at my house on saturday, and thinking of doing a live webcast. does anyone have suggestions for which services to use, how to do it... etc, etc...

Hopefully you will be able to tune in! I know wesen and ruin are doing this all the time, I want to get them to weigh in... Hopefully an iSight plus a borrowed nice room mic will be enough.

About the easiest way of doing things is to sign up with Stickam link]link[/url]. You then get a homepage with a player, or code so you can embed the player in your own website. Viewers wont even need to register to view your show, although they might have to if they want to join the chat, not sure tho. Check it out anyway. Subscribed friends should get an email that you just went live, as well.

so it looks like this thing is gonna happen... manuel clued me into link seems like overkill, I think I am gonna go with ustream for the ease of use, and seeming lack of kiddie porn feeling that stickam radiates.

well i think maybe he means people already use stickam,
like @ em411 i think theres at least 10 ppl that use stickam..
like psyingo and manuel and myself have used it to do little live shows. though i agree it is pretty trashy, its like myspace, maybe a sort of necessary evil.
though im sure whatever you decide its going to be sweet. hope im around to see it.
