--> Here you can see the chassis prior to mounting the controls. The plexiglass panels are still a little rough around the edges. Once these are softned out a little bit, a led in the center of the panel illuminates and causes the whole panel edge to light up.

There are 116 holes in the front panel in total. Next week I will be working on the inside of the faceplate, installing buttons and wiring up the knobs.

is this one of those midibox jobbers?
Recent blogs: Non-standard midi keyboard, janko

No, its custom built throughout. It sends combinations of midi notes and controller changes to max/msp, to toggle slicers and effects and routings on and off. At least, it might, if it works.

if doesn't work i would say just go the midibox way. It saves alot of headaches.

very nice work too.
; )

Thanks very much

A hardware sequencer for max/msp, eh? Sounds like a cool idea -- hope it works!

A tutorial or extra braincell for learning and working in max/msp for people like me, eh? Sounds like a cool idea -- hope it works!

So far it mostly works, yeah I havn't got much happening in max/msp yet, at the momentthe hardware sends controller msgs and a variety of note on/off messages and has pattern banks I can switch, so it is working as a 'regular' step sequencer already. The crossfader and EQ controls also work. However, the advance cool stuff like sample mashup features, and machinedrum-style parameter lock and recording will come later. I need to get the control surface properly built before I can really start to play with it as a musican instrument. That's when I'll see how the workflow is developing, and code the max/msp stuff along with the hardware control.

That looks ace

More pix please!

if you want top notch plex routing, find an establishment that has a zund xy router....super clean cuts. wikid looking box!
