reading the comments is great. hilarious even. people sooooo upset by a movie when really horrible things go on all the time. same old shit i guess.

"Surrounded by a crowd of panicking onlookers, the American leader is pictured just seconds after being gunned down by a sniper following an anti-war demonstration.
But rather than a repeat of JFK's shooting or Ronald Reagan's attempted assassination, this shocking image is part of a new Channel Four show.
The dramatic scene, which has caused outrage among Americans, has been created by a British film company for a programme about the effect of the War On Terror."

nice, love those brits.

too bad it's not reality television

hmmmm, I want to see this fictional doc

not because I dislike the bush admin, but I'm interested in realistic depictions of political chaos

I watched Munich last week so I'm in that sorta mood

Once it shows on UK tv it will be available as a torrent on certain sites.

Livingston Ian Hampton, Houston,Texas said: "Think about it, how would Brits feel if we made a docudrama entitled "Death Of Tony Blair"?"

"lol"

They would think "lol".

Freaking stupid.

most ppl in this country at the moment are thinking, "Tony, can you take a hint and like, fuck off and die?"

I brought the independent newspaper [haha...an oxymoron if ever there was one] to read on my 2 hour journey to work this morning and main article [cont on page 7] was all about how Tony cant take a hint and that he really is heading down the same path as Thatcher, when her own party couldnt get rid of her quick enough but she didnt have a fucking scooby.

We had a sort of documentary the other night called "time trumpet" that showed what would happen in the world in 2031 because of bliars war on terror. I think it showed him wandering around with a gun in a desereted army base in basra, muttering to himself.
Tony Blair has disappointed me more than any other Western pol in the last 5 years.

You can blame Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld for starting the war in Iraq, but that's like blaming shit for stinking. Starting wars is just what they do. They're hopeless.

But if Blair had stood up and refused to support the war admitted that there were no Iraqi WMD or Al-Qaeda connection, it would have been much harder to sell the war to the US public.

Back on topic: I'm sure we're all on watchlists now.

Why is Bliar sucha disapointment to you?

He is a lawyer and was an MI5 informant whilst parading as a communist in the Labour party. When he became party leader in 94, it became clear almost immediately that no good would come of him, when he started to spout some very worrying shit about distancing the party from its power base [workers unions] and its origins [laboured classes] and dismantling some of the main clauses in the parties charter

Every time one of the canvassers knocked on my door in the lead upto the 97 election and asked if I would vote Labour, I said I wouldnt specifically because of Bliar. They would then say that we needed to get the 'tories' out and start restoring the fabric of society but I argued the guy would just tear it more and people would be disillusioned by it. Whereas if we kept the tories then they would completely munt things up and peopel would get off their arses and do something about it themselves. At the time, I was going to lots of 'Reclaim The Streets' parties and various other grass roots activist events but they all dwindled gradually after Labour/Bliar got into power because everyone sat back and thought everyhting would be rosy in the garden.

I feel no disapointment but sickened that I was sort of right and its worse than I imagined.

i know i am.

some jackass said: "I find it unconscionable that any country would allow a film like this to be aired. To even suggest the assassination of another American president, no matter how much he may be hated, is appalling.
We Americans have always been a faithful ally to your country, losing many of our soldiers helping you fight the Germans in WWII in your country and this is the way you repay us? Shame on you! Why do you hate Americans so much? We don't hate you. In fact, I've always been proud of the fact that my ancesters came from England. Now I'm not so sure I'd want to brag about that anymore.

My first thought when I read this news story was, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if some Hollyweed slob like Michael Moore or others of that intellegence lacking ilk came up with the idea, wrote the story, and funded the film for Gabriel Range. It sounds like a stupid Michael Moore stunt. But then I thought, huh uh, that couldn't be true....or could it?

that's the one that really got me too. wtf?

I do kinda think that simulating someone's death without their permission is kinda distasteful, though...

is there video up online of this?

I think we shoudl have a saturday evening show hosted by jeremy beadle or the old 'game for a laugh' crew and play out the events of major politicians being assainated in various burlesque manner and play out consequential events. It should be as distasteful as possible with added saliciousnous. Like one of their children decending into crack addiciton and prostitution or in Bush's case, a neice recovering from it.
