A while ago my band was invited to do a bjork tribute show, and the date is coming up very quick :S
September 30th @ the Powerhouse in brisbane were going to be doing a show of 4 Bjork songs + 4 of our own songs.
After much discussion ( and fighting ;) ) we chose Hidden Place, Joga ( does anyone know how to actually pronouce it???) , Hyperballad and Violently Happy.
So far Hidden place is not so removed from the original, Joga is a mess of industrial noise ( i sampled my washing machine ) , hyperballad features samples of thunderstorms and children playing ( but isnt so removed from the original ) and violently happy is a fucked up mix of ebm/idm/hardcore
We have a friend doing visuals ( richard De Souza ) .. he's done visuals before for us and they were great, he has these little mini cameras he live feeds to his vj stuff and were planning on tempo synching it via midi.
its getting to be quite a big event .. im getting a little nervous.. :S
This is the last in the series of tributes to electronica ... previous were Gary Numan, Depech Mode and New Order.

were doing the full costume thing too.. im going as a devil in a pinstripe suit, getting my face and hands airbrushed, dying my mohawk blue and getting some contact lenses ..
heidi's going to be an angel, she's getting paper wings made up by a friend and also a paper dress..... will have to keep her away from stray sparks ;)

Btw, "Jóga" is very close to "Yoga", so settle for that if you like. But there must sb here from iceland who can Set the record straight.

god some of her stuff is random.. :S
made it hard to sing/learn... especially joga with that whole 'then the riddle gets solved and you push me up to" bit.. sometimes it has and extra beat , sometimes an extra line ( no idea what she says tho ) ..
but then thats just the charm of bjork really

hehe i picked up joga this morning, and while writing down i though "wtf?", but yeah there's some random beats missing and stuff. Amazing song though. I'm making a thrash metal cover.

I'm so glad you remembered to use the apostrophe in 'Let's'.
It's so neglected, these days.
Does it have to be a cover of Joga?
Or can it be any Bjork song?
Someone I know got his track put on the Bjork Army of Me compilation.

there are certainly a lot of netlabels out there that would release such a thing (including mine)...
the army of me compilation is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad....;)

Jóga = almost like Yoga. More like "ioga". Yoga is close enough
AFAIK it's the name of her friend and mentor.
