--> I just got a condenser mic- the Octava 219 and I've plugged it in through the front mic socket of the 828 and switched on the 48v phantom power but there is no sound. Why? What do I need to do?

is the track un-muted or turned up on the FireWire CueMix Console mixer?

Yeah, it's up at max volume, as is the trim knob and no solos or mutes are active

It's an Octava 319 btw, not a 219.

the error is probably on the computer side.
what software are you using?

What kind of cord are you using? High or Low impedance?

laymans terms; the quarter inch cord, or the 3 prong chord?

I also have the Mk 319. I worked at guitar center when they were blowing them out for 50-100 bucks.
With my employee discount it was like 25 bucks for one...so i said the hell with it and bought 2. I
figured $25 you cant beat it!

Don't tell me that, I just paid 60 pounds sterling second hand!

It's quarter inch jack into the front socket and the analogs round the back are all working fine.

The screen on the 828 doesn't light up if that's worth knowing too.
Thats your problem, you need the three prong cord. It wont work with a quarter inch cord.

do u own one, if so try it, bet it works.

Thanks man! I'll get one. I guess the phantom power comes through the xlr only?

Hey, I grew a brain and remembered that I actually have the manual. The XLR input is a low impedance mic input so I guess I need to use that one but I should have got something through the TRS shouldn't I?

If u use XLR you will be game tooth.

It’s a decent mic; I like it, still use it although I bought a Groove Tubes
GT57 for around 400 bones, that was with my employee discount too! When
I use these two large Diaphragm Condensers together, it sounds really great stereo.
I can adjust patterns on my GT57 as well for different applications.

For the price, its real decent!!!!
