bumpy, with some seepage.

sounds like a bad case of herpes.

Hard. Lets compare:

Hard: Kevin Drumm, My Bloody Valentine, Hrvatski, Stockhausen.

Smooth: Kenny G, Guy Lombardo, Enya, Michael Bolton.

So, hard, by a landslide.

More smooth:

Pat Metheny, George Benson, Orbital (sorry), Supersilent (again, sorry but...)

Evidence is mounting.

would yo consider Erik Satie smooth? i like Erik SAtie.

and whoever had the prank calls blog i laughed my ass off. that was hard.

I'd def say Satie is hard, imho, he's too deliciously angular to be smooth. Many good eggs threaten to cross to the dark side tho, Arvo Part comes to mind... "Spiegel Im Spiegel" in excerpt sounded like smooth ass soap opera music to me out of context the first time...

pfft. I like to fuck hard.
kfw could be considered smooth since a lot of it is droney and pretty, but he's got some nasty shit going on underneath it all that makes it hard. I don't think anyone would ever admit that something is smooth if they like it. It has too many negative connotations.

We're getting closer to something here. So far:

Hard = Good.

Smooth = Bad.

Datathinner = Rough in the sack.

im totaly for the smooth

hard wtf ? are you going to be murdering people with a machine gun anytime soon?

he's a witch!

;)

in general the harder the better. yes, like pansonic.

smooth has to be really cleverly expertly done to be good
hard can kick arrrse a lot more easily- but remember loud and fast doesnt make it hard
IM actually talking about my music preferences
i think funky wins but thats kind of related to hard cos the rhythms got to really hit you (i guess it needs some smoothness too)
i dont know what im talking about

I'm a smooth guy myself - Xela, Isan, Casino vs. Japan, Signaldrift, Lullatone... these all strike me as smooth.

That reminds me of this sample CD one of my friends and I saw in guitar center ages ago: "Smoove Grooves and Phat Beatz"
