playing my crackle box next week at the netaudio festival link
its got a great character > six finger pads > selfpowered > inbuilt loudspeaker
its crackles and sings across low and high frequencies depending upon your finger pressure and positioning > asimple but intuitive interface link
it can be piercing and painfulk to the ears hitting a loud 2000 - 4000 KHz range
Interesting to mic it up > any tips out there?

maybe try contact micing the side of it, and running that to your mixer. just so you have another filtered layer to mix in.

they make them with speakers built in, no output.
but bugbrand has a nice tutorial on how to add one, but you'll need a transformer link

Cracklebox FAQ
Q1: Does the Cracklebox come with a power supply?
A1: No. The principle of the Cracklebox is that it is standalone, so it is battery operated (it comes with a 9V battery). Secondly, when you play it you become part of the circuitry, so it might also be dangerous to connect it to higher voltage sources. That is the reason why we advise strongly against attempting to build in a power supply into a Cracklebox.
Q2: Does the Cracklebox come with an audio output connection?
A2: No. Again, the principle of the Cracklebox is its independency of any other hardware, its potential to generate sound with touch, without any expensive or elaborate audio system. And again, by connecting the Cracklebox to a device (i.e. a mixer) that is connected to the power grid is potentially dangerous.
Q3: Can I hear some sounds produced by the Cracklebox?
A3: Yes you can. Go to link and search for cracklebox.
