--> Apple this morning cut prices on iMacs and Mac minis in the UK.

iMac prices now start at £879 for the entry-level 1.83GHz Core Duo machine, that's £50 less than the previous price. The 20-inch 2GHz model now costs £1,129 - that's a substantial £100 discount on the machine.

Mac minis have seen similar price reductions. The entry-level 1.5GHz Core Solo model now costs £398.99, rather than the £449 previous price; meanwhile, the 1.66GHz Core Duo Mac mini now costs £529 rather than its previous £599 price.

Apple has also reduced prices across its iPod nano range, which see £10 lopped off the previous price: the 1GB model now costs £99; the 2GB model costs £129; the 4GB iPod nano's new price is £169.

The iPod HiFi has also seen its price drop, from £249 to £229.

These prices are being advised across Apple's reseller network.

hmmm...no price cuts in the us. boo.

wel, if u do the conversion, those fish and chippers over there are still getting the shaft

yep, even compared to the european mainland, who get higher prices to begin with. however, at least our prices already include VAT - in canada I was really puzzled when I always paid more than the pricetag said at first

Yeah, I love that about Europe. No surprises at the till. I did notice that some computer shops occasionally advertise pre-VAT prices.
